Will AI Save Concrete Construction and Kill Google?

Will AI Save Concrete Construction and Kill Google?

This week we dropped Episode #120 of the Concrete Logic Podcast titled, "Will AI Save the Future of Concrete Construction?" I sat down with Ramy Sedra of C60, an AI analytics company that partners with ready-mix producers. If you haven't listened yet, you really should—it’s packed with valuable insights. One thing Ramy was crystal clear about: AI isn't going to magically solve our industry's labor shortage.

Sorry to burst your bubble, folks, but there isn't a robot ready to jump into that skid steer just yet.

But here's the good news—while AI can't replace people, it can absolutely make those of us currently hustling in the field a heck of a lot more efficient. And that's something I can personally vouch for.

I've been exploring, learning, and leveraging "AI" since 2022, and I mentioned in the podcast that I literally use AI every day. It’s boosted my productivity significantly, and today, I want to share one practical way AI has completely changed the game for me: internet search.

Remember when internet search used to be useful?

Yeah, me too.

But over the past two decades, Google has dominated—and ruined—our web search experience. In fact, we don't even say "web search" anymore—we say "Google it."

But let’s face it, Google searches are now overwhelmed with advertisements, tracking you across the web with stuff you've casually browsed on Amazon or eBay.

Ever noticed how looking up floor cleaners suddenly floods your phone screen with ads for cleaning products on every site you visit afterward?

Thinking about buying a car? Brace yourself for weeks of car ads popping up everywhere—even when you're innocently searching for that pancake recipe you vaguely remember from two months ago.

It’s annoying. Really annoying.

Here's where AI, specifically ChatGPT, comes in handy. Instead of dealing with Google’s invasive ads and endless scrolling, just type directly into ChatGPT, something like: "Give me a pancake recipe using eggs, flour, milk, and butter." It instantly provides a no-fuss, ad-free recipe based on the ingredients you already have at home.

No more digging through pages of search results, no more getting lost in irrelevant websites, no more dry-eyed phone staring, and definitely no more hungry, impatient kids waiting for breakfast.

Think about it: AI-driven search makes finding exactly what you need quick and painless.

Honestly, it's only a matter of time before the traditional way of "Googling" something becomes obsolete. Google’s massive ad-driven business model is bound to shrink—and bloggers dependent on those ads will need to pivot, fast.

Speaking of ads, have you noticed something different about the Concrete Logic Podcast website?

That's right, no annoying Google ads. Ever.

But that also means we rely on listeners and readers like you to help us keep things rolling. So, if you appreciate our straightforward, ad-free content, consider tossing a donation our way. Your support helps keep our independent voice strong and clear.

Until next week, stay efficient, stay productive, and maybe give AI a chance to change your daily search habits.
